On Reddit, one user started a thread after binge-watching Suits with his wife. He wrote,

“I was curious as to when exactly Meghan started dating Harry, but refused to look it up. I wanted to take a best guess, and season 6 looks like it. I’m basing this on Mike and Rachel kissing and hugging once despite some seriously intense moments in their story. Harvey and Mike have more sexual chemistry, and honestly, I’m rooting for them to make it.”

Fans noticed Rachel Zane’s wardrobe and scenes were toned down just as Meghan started dating Prince Harry.

While most assumed it was due to her engagement to Prince Harry, one of the show’s creators confirmed that was exactly the case. Aaron Korsh, the show’s creator, spoke to BBC Radio 4 in 2017 and admitted he’d seen the relationship coming.

“I knew from a year ago that this relationship was burgeoning,” he said. “And I had a decision to make because I didn’t want to intrude and ask her, ‘Hey, what’s going on and what are you going to do?’”

Instead of putting her in an awkward position, Korsh and the writing team decided to assume the relationship would last.

“Collectively with the writers, we decided to take a gamble that these two people were in love and it was going to work out.”

He added, “What we decided to do was say, ‘Look, I would rather have good things happen to Meghan in her life’ – which would likely mean her leaving the show. So let’s plan on that, and it’s much easier to undo that, if it came to it, than to just plan on her staying forever and then finding out she’s going to go.”
