Lana Del Rey Clarifies Palestine Comments After Emotional Post About Texas Floods

Recently, Lana Del Rey found herself in the middle of that whirlwind after addressing two separate tragedies: the deadly flash floods in Texas and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

She posted a heartfelt message on Instagram that sparked both praise and questions from fans, leading her to offer a rare follow-up response directly in the comments. In her original post, Lana expressed sorrow over the catastrophic flash floods that hit Texas, specifically Kerr County, where more than 100 people have died and many more are still missing.

Among the victims were 27 young girls and staff members from Camp Mystic, a girls’ summer camp in the area. The emotional weight of the situation was clear in Lana’s words.

“I want to say how sorry I am for so many people’s losses in Kerr County and beyond in Texas,” she wrote. “We’ve been thinking of you every day since the floods.”

She followed up with, “All of my prayers are with you every moment of the day this week and may all the angels be with you as you search for even more lost loved ones. I’m sorry for everyone who’s going through this. It’s truly unprecedented, and I can’t even imagine it. All my Love.”

Lana’s post drew praise from Texas fans, who urged her to address ICE raids and other tragedies, too.

The message drew immediate attention, especially from fans in Texas, who were grateful that a major public figure had acknowledged the devastation. One follower commented,

“I’m from Texas and this is so appreciated. Another thing that’s affecting our area is the ICE raids, please post about those as well as Palestine.”

Another wrote, “Thank you Lana, so many houses were destroyed also and it breaks my heart all the kids that went missing and have passed.”

But not everyone was entirely satisfied. A few users began to point out her silence on other global issues – specifically, the ongoing crisis in Gaza. Comments like

About an hour later, Lana responded. Not in a new post, but directly in the comments section, where she clarified her position on Palestine.

“And yes of course we pray for Palestine every day,” she began. “I wish for peace between all nations and am constantly up on all of the news between the Israel Palestine conflict.” She said she had felt hopeful when talks of a peace treaty were circulating and admitted how difficult it is to watch innocent people suffer during war. “It’s always difficult to watch any innocent victims killed by crimes of war.”

Lana Del Rey said she follows the conflict, discusses it often, and hopes for peace.

She went on to explain that, while she may not publicly comment on everything, she does follow these issues closely.

“There is never a good way of wording things that will make all people happy but that is my personal truth,” she wrote.

Lana added that she has been hoping for a ceasefire and that the conflict is something she talks about often in her daily life.

“This is a long ongoing conflict and one I’ve studied hard to understand. It’s heartbreaking and unfathomable to think there hasn’t been a way to find some resolution.”

She ended by acknowledging that no message will satisfy everyone, but said she does try to be aware and involved:

“It’s a topic of conversation in many of my daily conversations, and we’re constantly considering what we can do to contribute in all situations like this. I always have been.”
